do we need it?

The first question i ask myself is: do we need money? i think it is definitely possible to live without money. what do we need? 1.a quiet warm and comfortabel place to sleep: there are actually so many abandoned houses where owners are happy someone gets in to keep the house in good shape cfr a recent project in this field in Leipzig (Germany). 2.healthy food, the healthiest food is the cheapest: vegetables, cereals, vegetal proteins,... at public markets tons are thrown away... 3. creativity: free 4. friends: free 5. love: free 6. transport: so many cars only with one person in, carpooling, hitchhiking...

so if we can change from the idea of individualism towards the idea of sharing, costs become at once a lot less... i think everyone has to offer things: skills, knowledge, love, food, money... when you live in the idea of abundance instead of scarity, so many things come to you...

what is money? nothing there is no value in it, look at the recent 'crisis', the only value is what we have to offer as a person to ourselves and to others, that we can share...

Hey Rob, is there really no value in it? I agree with you that money has no value 'an sich' but that we attribute value to it and that the rules for structuring this attribution are deeply flawed. But this concerns money as we know it in its most common form; national currencies. The new forms of money emerging when used diligently are exciting and interesting, not in the 'get rich quick opportunity' sense, but rather in the 'don't get poorer slowly' sense as national currencies lead to for most people who don't have enough of it to escape its vicious circle.Would micro credits only generate micro crises? 17:14, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
